Commander Amilcar Hernán Velásquez Vargas

He was born on January 5, 1976. He entered the Navy on March 4, 1994, graduating on January 1, 1999 as Alférez de Fragata.

It is qualified in Coastguard and Electronics. He has followed the Basic Staff courses, Recognition Resource and Ship Inspections in Extension of the MARPOL 73/78 Agreement, Training of Port Captains, Command and Staff of the Armed Forces, Contracting of the State, and Fundamentals for the Documentation of Processes He is a Bachelor of Naval Marine Sciences.

During his service on board, he was Chief of the 1st. Artillery Division in the BAP Montero, Endowment Officer in the BAP Rio Zana, Head of the Operations Department in the BAP Rio Tambo, Second Commander of the BAP Rio Huarmey, Head of the Logistics Department in the BAP Quiñones, and Commander of the BAP Rio Huarmey

He has been Head of the Riverside Interdiction Unit in the Captaincies District No. 5, First Assistant Officer of the Captain of the Port of Pisco, Captain of the Port of Chancay, Captain of the Port of San Juan, Captain of the Port of Paita, Deputy Director of Scientific Research and Technology in the Direction of Naval Enlistment, Chief of the Operations Division in the Shipping Service of the Navy, Head of the School of Coastguard Operations.

He currently serves as Deputy Defense Attaché to the Embassy of Peru in the Commonwealth of Australia.
