Rear Admiral Herman Gonzalo Oyarce Arescurenaga

He was born on October 23, 1966. He entered the Navy on March 1, 1985, leaving on January 1, 1990 as Ensign of Frigate.

He is qualified in Marine Infantry. He has followed the courses of Correspondence Intelligence, Basic Staff, Scuba Diving at 60 feet, Amphibious Command, Training of Instructors, Command and Administration, Superior of Psychological Operations - Army of Peru. He has a Diploma in National Security and Defense, and a Masters in Development and National Defense.

During his service on board he has been Chief of the 3rd. Armament Division at BAP Aguirre. He has served as Head of the Intelligence Department in the Light Combat Battalion No. 3, Head of the Production Support Division in the Navy Computing Service, Head of the Weapons Company in the Marine Infantry Battalion No. 2 , Chief of the Zorrillos Counterterrorist Base in the Marine Infantry Battalion No. 4, Chief of the Missile Battery in the Headquarters of the Fire Support Group, Chief of the "A" Company in the Marine Infantry Battalion No. 1.

Also, Security of the President in the Military House of the President of the Republic, Second Commander of the Fire Support Group, Head of the Academic Administration Division in the Center for Technical Training and Naval Training, Second Commander of the Amphibious Brigade, Commander of the Combat Support Grouping, Commander of the Marine Infantry Battalion No. 2, Commander of the Marine Infantry Base, Head of the Marine Infantry School, Chief of the General Staff in the Command of the Marine Infantry Force , and Commander of the Naval Base of Callao.

In 2018, the government granted him the promotion to the rank of Rear Admiral and was named Commander of the Fourth Naval Zone.

In 2019, he assumed the position of Commander of the Marine Infantry Force.
