Captain Ignacio Parra Ponce

He was born in Lima on April 15, 1972. He joined the Peruvian Naval Academy on March 1, 1989, graduating as Ensign on January 1, 1994.

He is a specialist in Surface Warfare and in Surface Weapons Engineering. Graduated in the following programs: Basic Intelligence, Basic Staff, Complementary Electronics Specialty; Course of M-9 Electronics; Command and Staff Course; High Command; Specialization in Strategic Studies and Internal Control Course. He also holds a Masters in Maritime Strategy.

He is been on board Peruvian Navy ships like B.A.P. "Montero"as Chief of Artillery Division, Head of Administration Department at B.A.P. "Talara", Head of Auxiliary Division and Head of Shooting Control Division at B.A.P. "Montero"; Head of Armament Department at B.A.P. "Santillana"; Head of Shooting Control at B.A.P. "Mariátegui", Head of Armament Department at B.A.P. "Mariátegui", Armament Area Inspector Project FM-58 (B.A.P. "Quiñones", Head of Armament Department at B.A.P. "Quiñones" and Commanding officer at B.A.P. "Herrera".

During his tenure ashore, he has served as Officer in charge of  Cadets of 1st year at the Naval Academy; Assistant Officer in the General Command of the Navy; Head of the 1st Section in the Secretariat of the Navy General Command; Mission of Studies Abroad in charge of the Directorate General of Naval Education; Chief of the Marine Industrial Service - Chimbote and Sub Secretary of the General Command of the Navy.

In 2018 he was appointed Deputy Defense and Naval Attaché to the Embassy of Peru in the Argentine Republic, concurrent to the Eastern Republic of Uruguay.
