Rear Admiral Jorge Martín Zegarra Rivas

He was born on September 5, 1967. He studied at the Maristas Miraflores school. He entered the Naval School of Peru on March 1, 1985, graduating with the rank of Alférez de Fragata on January 1, 1990.

He is qualified in Weapons Engineering and Surface Warfare. He has followed the Correspondence Intelligence, Basic Staff, Command and General Staff courses, High Command Program, and the course for Surface Force Unit Commanders.

He has the degree of Master in Maritime Policy from the Naval War College, he holds a Master's degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Lima and is currently studying double degrees in the Master's Degree in Information Technology Management at the University ESAN and at the Ramón Llull-La Salle University of Spain.

In the operational area, he has worked on board, as Head of Department and Logistics Officer in the BAP Santillana and BAP Carvajal, and in the area of ​​armament, as Chief of Shooting Control of the BAP Admiral Grau, Head of Armament in the BAP Sánchez Carrión, Head of Armament at the BAP Admiral Grau and Chief of Armament of the BAP. Mariátegui, as well as Second Commander of the BAP Carvajal and Commander of the BAP Mariátegui.

He has been Officer of Endowment in the Marine Infantry Force and in the Light Battalion of Marine Infantry Nº 3, Official Secretary in the School of Qualification for Officers, Head of the Department of Engineering and Weapons and Head of the Department of Evaluation in the School Naval of Peru, Chief of the Bureau of Doctrine in the General Command of Operations of the Pacific, Deputy Chief of the Arms and Electronics Service, Head of the Planning Department and Deputy Director of Projects in the Directorate of Naval Enlistment and Head of the Office of Industrial Compensation and Social Offset of the General Directorate of Marine Materials.

In 2018, the government granted him the promotion to the rank of Rear Admiral and was appointed Director of Concessions of the Navy.

In 2019, he assumes the position of Defense and Naval Attaché to the Embassy of Peru in the United States of America.
