Rear Admiral Nelson Montenegro Pacheco

He was born on March 23, 1966. He entered the Navy on March 1, 1985, graduating on January 1, 1990 as Ensign of Frigate.

He is qualified in Submarine Weapons, Intelligence and Surface War. He has followed the courses of Cryptographic Training, Basic Staff, Command and Staff Course, Psychological Operations Update, Computer Security for Counterintelligence Officers, High Command Program and Basic Intelligence. He has a Diploma in National Security and Defense.

During his service on board he has been Chief of the 3rd. Division of the Fault Control Department at BAP Almirante Grau, Head of the Logistics Department at BAP Diez Canseco, Head of the Logistics Department at BAP Almirante Grau, Commander of BAP Eten and Commander of BAP Zorritos.

He has served as Chief of the 3rd. and 4th. Division of Acoustic Torpedoes in the Submarine Weapons Station, Head of the Department of Internal Front in the Directorate of Intelligence of the Navy, Head of the Security Division in the Directorate of Intelligence of the Navy, Internal Sub-inspector in the General Directorate of Captaincies and Coast Guard, Chief of the Operations Division in the General Directorate of Marine Material, Chief of the 1st. and 2nd. Section of the General Staff in the Command of the Third Naval Zone, Head of the Intelligence Section in the Command of the Surface Force, Head of the Permanent Ad-Hoc Technical Secretariat in the Secretariat of the Navy General Command, Chief of the Department of Intelligence in the Directorate of Intelligence of the Navy, Head of the Collection Department in the Directorate of Intelligence of the Navy, and Deputy Director of Intelligence of the Navy.

In 2018, the government grants him the promotion to the rank of Rear Admiral and is appointed to the Joint Command of the Armed Forces.

In 2019, he assumes the position of Director of Intelligence of the Navy.
