Vice Admiral Ricardo Alfonso Menéndez Calle

He was born on June 8, 1960. He went to Abraham Lincoln High School. He joined the Peruvian Naval Academy on February 20, 1979, graduating as Ensign on January 1, 1984.

He is a specialist in Naval Aviation and graduated in the following programs: the Basic Intelligence, Basic Staff, Command and Staff , and High Command at the Peruvian Naval War College, Tactical Course in the Peruvian Air Force, and participated at XVI CEDEYAC course.

He is been on board Peruvian Navy ships like B.A.P. Carvajal and B.A.P. Aguirre.

During his tenure ashore, he has served as Head of the Armament Department of the Aeronaval Base, Staffing Officer of the Command of the Second Naval Zone, Head of the Intelligence Division in the Aeronaval Squadron No. 11, Chief of the Operation and Instruction Department in the Aeronaval Squadron Nro 11, Chief of the Department of Operations in the Aeronaval Squadron No. 31, Chief of the Maintenance Department (1995) and Executive Commander in the Naval Air Squadron No. 11, Head of the Security Department of the Naval Aviation Force Command, Headquarter Chief of the Command of the Third Naval Zone, Officer of the Command of the Naval Aviation Force, Commander of the Naval Air Squadron No. 11, Head of the Administrative Plans Division of the Plans Department in the Navy General Staff, Naval Attaché to the Embassy of Peru in Ecuador, Deputy Director of the Supply Directorate, Commander of the Aeronaval Group No. 1, and Internal Inspector of the General Command of Pacific Operations.

On January 1, 2011, the Government confered him the rank of Rear Admiral and is designated as Commander of the First Naval Zone. Later in 2013 he served as Commander of the Naval Aviation Force. In 2014 he assumed the position of Director of the Navy Personnel Administration and in 2015 as Chief of the General Staff of the General Command of Pacific Operations.

In 2016, the Government confered him the rank of Vice Admiral and assumed the position of Commander  General of the Amazon Operations and Fifth Naval Zone, and in 2017 he assumed the position of Navy General Inspector. On January 1, 2018, he assumes the position of General Director of  the Navy Material.
